Waking Dreams returns with “Fantasies,” a four-track excursion by Aline Umber and AGELESS that explores the hypnotic facets of deep house. Featuring the label’s most sought-after ID, the title track finally receives its official release, unfolding as a meditative yet driving cut built on understated percussion and an airtight groove. Lush chords douse the track’s atmosphere, while dubby synth stabs and a spoken-word vocal cut through the arrangement, deepening its hypnotic pull and transfixing the listener. Dan Ghenacia takes things deeper with his electro-tinged rework, expanding on the original’s addictive groove with angular drumwork, adding further club functionality and sharpening it into a darker, more introspective counterpoint.
